ABOUT THE SJLEOC

This event was developed to raise money and awareness in memory of Police Officers killed in the line of duty.  Hundreds of law enforcement officers and survivors embark on a 300+ mile bicycle ride from North Jersey to Washington DC in May.  The organization, the Police Unity Tour raises money for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The riders, motors and support end the four-day journey arriving in DC during Police Week and present a group donation.  All for the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

With your help, we continue to honor and remember the men and women in blue.

Police Unity Tour

History - The Police Unity Tour was organized by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department.  In short, he hoped to raise awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices.

In 1997, 18 riders road to Washington DC and raised $18,000.

In 2005, the Police Unity Tour developed the motto, "We ride for those who died."

In 2010, 1200 riders nationwide made the trip and donated over 1.325 million dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
